We went home.

We decided to cut our trip short and returned home yesterday.  Bryan had situations come up and an opportunity presented to him with a church back home and needed to be home by Friday night.  Even though our trip was cut short we had a blast and met a lot of cool people and had great conversations and built great relationships.  We plan on doing a trip like this again and we will give ourselves more time.  We had a great week and we can’t thank everyone enough who helped us out.  We appreciate it.

Thanks.

What we have been up to.

Hello friends.  As you may know we have been traveling for close to a week now.  Before this trip we had planned on bringing a video camera with us and recording the interactions we had with the people we met.  That quickly changed.  We decided very early on in the week that video recording our interactions with the people we met was not what we wanted to do.

Creating relationships with new people and having awesome conversation however is still on the agenda and is happening wherever we go, but we felt it unnecessary to document the interactions.

When we started the trip, we had a lot of goals in mind.  Our main goal is still active and that is having no clue where we are going day to day and seeing where the Lord takes us through our travels.  Also we gave ourselves a few weeks to travel around and due to certain circumstances we have to come home a week early.  This isn’t a bad thing, we have learned what to do and what not to do and are going to use this new information when we travel like this again.  The contacts we have made and the encouragement from friends and family has been absolutely amazing and we appreciate everything.

Thanks all.

Day 4 Video.

We found another house to stay at in Virginia.  We met a guy named Scott and he is in the Navy and he welcomed us into his apartment for the night.  He is a great guy.  We brought over some pizzas to cook in the oven and while the oven was preheating, smoke started to come out of it and the smoke alarm went off.  It turns out he left his George Foreman Grill in the oven.  It is now ruined.

Day 4.

Well we are still in Virginia and loving it. This morning we had no clue to where to go. Several different routes were discussed and after much consideration and prayer we have decided to stay in Virginia just one more day. The location is still being discussed, we found a contact and will be meeting up with him later this evening.

Day2-3 video.

Day 2.

Well we left Charleston, West Virginia around 9:00 am and then headed to a contact in Virginia.  On our way we found a sweet place and it was Stonewall Jackson state park.  So we decided to stop there.  We looked around and found some trails and took some time to take a hike for a few miles.  The state park was amazing, right in the middle of the mountains.  We got back in the car and drove for a few more hours and had to take a rest at the rest stop that was right when we got into Maryland.  We arrived at our house in Virginia around 8:00 pm and met some cool people from James Madison University while sitting around a camp fire.

Day 1.

Well everyone our first day was great.  After a few hours of driving and exploring a few small towns along the way, we ended up in Charleston, WV.  This city is great.  We are currently staying with some really cool people (yeah Sara and Bob we are talking about you) at a really cool house and tomorrow should be awesome as well.  Today was a nice start to the week.

We’re Going.

We have reached a departure date and have set it for Friday, June 11th.  We have contacted a few different people and some people have contacted us with different places for us to stay.  The support we have already received is amazing.  Thank you to everyone who has contacted us and is trying to help, we appreciate it.

The plan of course is to just go.  We will be stopping frequently to talk to people that we will meet along the road.  We have obtained a video camera from a friend of ours and we are going to document the whole journey.  So keep checking back to the blog for updates on our travels.  Also we will be posting our Twitter updates and video updates on the blog as well.

Thanks.
